FolderMill efficiently distributes print jobs across multiple printers. To set this up, select your target printers and choose an operating mode. The program offers two printer load balancing modes.
Printer Load Balancing modes in FolderMill
FolderMill provides two modes for balancing print jobs across multiple printers:
- Least loaded printer – The system automatically selects the printer with the fewest or no pending print jobs, ensuring faster output during high-demand periods.
- Round robin (Sequential printing) – Print jobs are distributed evenly in a set order, helping maintain equal usage across printers and extending their lifespan.
How to enable Printer Load Balancing in FolderMill
Follow these steps to activate load balancing and streamline your printing process:
- Add a new Print document Action
- In the Action window, click Advanced settings.
- Find the Printer load balancing settings section (or search for "printer load balancing")
- Set Enabled to Yes, choose either Least loaded printer or Sequential printing (Round Robin), and click OK
- Select Print on, choose the printers you want to use, and confirm with OK
- Click Apply changes and start FolderMill Processor
Additional Settings
- Save printer settings – Saves printer configurations that are set through the Properties button for future sessions of FolderMill.
- Allow the same printer to be selected multiple times – Allows sending print jobs to the same printer, for example, if you want to use the same printer but with different Properties.
FolderMill will now distribute incoming files across your printers using your selected algorithm.
